While Firenze is not a part of the Rust Belt Farms & is owned by Mercedes of Mythos Performance Dogs, we are hosting a website for him to showcase his accomplishments as a stud we have bred with previously.
Firenze is out of Latigo Farms’ Monica and Tux in 2018. As a puppy, he was showing great instinct on livestock, playing in a kiddie pool, and eagerly greeting everyone that was coming to the farm for herding practice. He has always been a very outgoing dog that is ready to take on the world at the drop of a pen. While he’s a little boisterous and assertive while meeting new people, he is very quick to warm up to them and crawl into their laps for snuggles. As a puppy he was slow to learn but developed at his own pace during training. At about a year old, he was finally ready to learn the basics. But that never stopped him from excelling in other things right off the bat and taking life by the reins.
Firenze competes in a multitude of things, including but not limited to Disc, Dock Diving, FastCAT, Weight Pull and Barn Hunt. Nothing stops him from trying something new and loving every second of it.

Firenze started playing Frisbee at the young age of 10 weeks. Chasing rollers down the field and adjusting to being in a crowd, that was all we were going for. Since then, he competes in our local Toss and Fetch club, bringing home a medal almost every season, only being beaten out by his sisters.

Dock Diving
Firenze has been actively competing in dock diving since he was 6 months old!
While he has his Novice, Junior Advanced, and Senior title, he is more consistently jumping in the Junior Division recently.

Firenze is a BEAST out on the FastCAT field. He has been Top 5 in breed 3 of 4 years that we have been running, and the 4th year, he was Top 10.
In 2022 and 2023, he was the #1 Miniature American Shepherd in FastCATs and in 2023, he became the #1 Lifetime dog after slamming a new Personal Best. This boy kicks up dirt and digs in when it’s time to run. Weight Pull
Firenze is the first Mini American titled in the sport of weight pull. While it’s not something we compete in regularly, he loves it and gets amped up when his harness comes out. He pulls more than 25 times his weight with personal bests on Rails and Carts.
