Swampy Creek Here Comes the Sun
**Ostara was retired from breeding and spayed July 14, 2022**
Ostara has joined a family in South East Michigan and we will likely still see her at dog events in the area. Ostara is from Swampy Creek and is sired by AKC GCH Bluegrass Journey on Route 66 and out of UKC CH Swampy Creek Wigglebutt Life in the Fast Lane. Ostara is a very sweet dog and is an steady & easy dog to take with us to any event or playground when we are spending time with family. She doesn't mind kids running up to her and really likes to hang out. Ostara has earned points in disc dog - we tried entering her in a variety of games but to be honest she is ALL about the agility crossover games like Funkey & Frizgility and is quite fun to play with, when it comes to the classic disc games she doesn't really care or try. She loves to run and jump over obstacles when the dogs are playing in our big pasture. She does help with herding the goats and likes to be in the position of helping to push them into the pen from behind at a slower pace versus the dogs that like to run out and bring them in from the further parts of the pasture. We would like to get Ostara into dock diving, she is a strong swimmer and is in the kiddie pool or goat's water trough multiple times a day - she really loves to splash around. Because of my health needs, I have to train for dock diving indoors and that is a long drive so we can not make it often. We have taken Ostara to a few Barn Hunt classes, and so far it doesn't seem to be her cup of tea - we could likely continue to train for it and she would do well but I would not say that its her natural inclination. |
Conformation
At her first show, an AKC puppy class for 4-6 month old puppies; Ostara won Best of Breed and Group 2nd. I am very happy with how she did for it being her first major venture away from home.
Now that Ostara has matured she is a beautiful girl, level topline and good bone with nice straight legs. She has good angulation and lay back and more of a "trotting drivetrain" to her rear assembly. |
Disc Dog
Ostara is just beginning her competitive disc career and had her first UpDog event in December 2019; she is a funny dog and fumbles the disc almost 100% of the time in the games that are not agility cross over games - but she is focused, driven, and accurate when its Frizgility or Funkey.
